Cerro Gordo is one of the coolest ghost towns in the Owens Valley! A DEFINITE MUST VISIT for the ghost town buff!
Cerro Gordo has been restored to its former glory. The American Hotel (above) has been renovated, the Belshaw house into a bed and you-make-breakfast and the bunkhouses into, well, bunkhouses.
The site is full of smaller structures that have yet to be redone and the mill is unbelieveable! In fantastic condition with most of its equipment still there and in great shape!
Please remember that Cerro Gordo is PRIVATE PROPERTY! Mike Patterson is onsite 24/7 and giving tours to those interested (his stories are the best!)! You will need permission to visit Cerro Gordo and there is a small fee. If you are intereseted in visiting Cerro Gordo (and we HIGHLY recommend it) please call Mike Patterson at (760) 876-1860.

We love Cerro Gordo so much that we just keep visiting! We've had a ghost town rally here, we've come up with friends and we've joined Ecological 4x4 Adventures Tours up here as well!

IN MEMORY OF JODY STEWART
Jody came to Cerro Gordo in the early 80's from Hollywood. She inherited the property from her uncle and almost immediately began to fix up the town. With the help of her husband Mike Patterson, they made Cerro Gordo into what it is today.
Anyone and everyone that met Jody was treated to her wonderful and outgoing kindness! She was an amazing and fantastic woman! She will be greatly missed!
