THE GOLDEN GATE MINE
The Golden Gate mine is truly a picturesque site that Cat really enjoyed!
The Golden Gate mine is comprised of two standing cabins, a 10 stamp mill (including most of the equipment), a tram terminal and mine dumps. Its located in gorgeous Mill Canyon very near the California/Nevada border.
There is a historical monument here that explains the mine here was discovered in 1903 and was open until 1939. Other than that I can find almost no trace of history regarding this site in the local history books! If anyone has more info regarding this site please email us with the information. We'll post the info along with a credit to you here.
