HORNITOS

Hornitos is a cool ghost town located in California's gold rush country. We had a blast wandering the streets of the town and the cemetary.
This once rowdy town is pretty quiet these days, we only saw a few locals stirring.

The photo on the above left is one of the tunnels that leads from one of the saloons (or fandangos) across the street and also, according to this history books, underground saloons as well. This tunnels and others like it in Hornitos were said to have been used by Juan Murieta in his escape from authorities.
