This silver mining camp dates back to the late 1800s. The post office was here from 1898 through 1905. The mines and mining camp here was once owned by Howard Hughes until the early 1970's.
With the current owner and caretakers permission, Jim and his dog Orofino, we wandered around photographing and exploring the property. Several standing cabins remain as well as mine claims markers with Hughes Tool Co ingraved in them, and lots of debris to date the site. Cat found a skeleton key here. Wonder who lost it, when he lost it and if his wife bitched him out for it?

Alysia poses next to one of the many old cars at the site.

Wild Bill found an older food bottle!

Thank you very much Jim and Orofino, for the chance to explore your camp - we had a great time!
