KENTUCKY MILL

The Kentucky mine began in the 1850s but the mill was not built until the 1860s. It was run until the 1950s and now is a historical park.
We were given a truely great tour by Lori who shared the history of the mine and mill with us as well as operated a Pelton wheel AND demonstrated the stamp mill for us. Cat got to turn the wheel that turned one of the cams that brought a stamp down with a tremenous crash! VERY COOL!
