
Tunnel dates back to 1927 when the Nevada State Mining Company drove a 2 1/2 mile long tunnel from Seven Troughs mines to this site. This was a company camp until the mid 1930s. Small scale mining operations went on here through the 1950s.
Up until the late 1990s a gentleman named Art lived here. Our Cheap Jeep buddies visited Art several times over the years and counted him a true and honest man. It was with sad regret that they learned of Art's passing.
